Quality Materials

We use only premium bridle leather in our products — never PU leather or synthetics. PU leather may look like real leather, but it’s actually made from plastic (polyurethane) layered over fabric, usually polyester. Sometimes it’s mixed with low-grade leather and coated in plastic, which is sold as “bi-cast” or “double-cast” leather.

The difference is simple: PU wears out quickly, cracks, and doesn’t age well. Bridle leather, on the other hand, is strong, durable, and develops a natural patina that only gets better with time. That’s why we choose bridle leather — for quality you can see and feel.

The outer band is crafted from premium bridle leather, while the underside features soft napa leather for a pop of colour, exceptional comfort, and a touch of luxury.

Disclaimer: Collars sized 30cm to 45cm will not have a double (middle) stitch due to their thin width. 

Measuring up for your dog collar

  • We have allowed for the extra room, do not leave any extra room when taking the measurement.
  • Measuring your dog's neck circumference will give you the most accurate sizing, do not measure the length of a previous collar.

  • Dry Slowly: Air drying at room temperature is preferable to direct sunlight or using a hair dryer. Slow drying helps maintain the leather's shape.

Storing Your Leather Collar

Our luxury dress collars feature handmade designs with rose gold, black plated fittings, beads, crystals, and other embellishments. With heavy use, these collars and fittings may sustain damage, though the collar remains functional. For dogs prone to rough wear, we recommend selecting dark leather collars with solid steel or brass hardware, or collars from our SupaTuff range. Please note, while rose gold and black fittings are double plated, they may scratch or chip over time.

It fits perfectly on my 8yr old American Staffy. I’m very happy with this collar overall. I had to do my research to find the exact item I wanted from NZ! The double-layer design makes it feel very sturdy and durable. The material itself was a bit stiff when I first started using it, but it softens up nicely with use. The three U-rings are a great feature — very convenient and they add extra strength and versatility. The colour is absolutely beautiful- I chose Orange. I was looking for the 2.8cm width and 55cm length because anything over 3cm looked too bulky on Joy, and this size fits her perfectly. The only downside is the hook. It’s a bit wobbly, which makes it harder to remove from the collar, and I wish it were a bit more sturdy. Aside from that, I’m very satisfied with the quality and design. I'm going to purchase another colour soon, thank you!

The colour looks burgundy in photo but when we received it it looks more mauve my partner said it looks pink not great for a male dog.
